Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up, our identity provider (Clerk) collects your email address and authentication details (including, if you choose Google sign-in, basic profile information from Google). We store your email and an account identifier in our database.
• Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We store subscription details such as plan, status, billing period, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers.
• Plans and images you upload. When you upload a garden plan, it is processed to build your overlay. Image adjustments happen in your browser; when you generate an AR file for iOS, the processed image is sent to our server only to build that file and is not retained on our servers afterward.
• Camera and AR. AR uses your device’s camera and motion sensors on your device to place your plan in view. The live camera feed is processed on your device; we do not receive or store your camera feed.
• Technical and usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs limited technical data such as IP address, browser/device type, and request timestamps for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the service and your account;
• To process subscriptions, trials, and payments;
• To generate your plan overlays and AR files;
• To secure the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems;
• To communicate with you about your account, billing, and service updates;
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded plans to train models or for advertising.

3. How we share information

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf to run Plancast, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Clerk — account creation and authentication;
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing;
• Vercel — application hosting and request logs;
• Neon — our database (stores your email, account id, and subscription records);
• Variant Launch — enables WebXR-based AR on iOS;
• Email provider — sending account and transactional emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).

4. Data retention

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Uploaded images used to generate AR files are processed transiently and are not stored on our servers after the file is created.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the service to work — primarily to keep you signed in (via Clerk) and to support secure checkout (via Stripe). We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy.

6. Data security

We use reputable providers and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

• Access or correct your account information;
• Delete your account and associated personal data;
• Cancel your subscription at any time from your account;
• Request a copy of your data or object to certain processing, where applicable law (such as GDPR or CCPA/CPRA) gives you those rights.

8. International users

We operate in the United States, and our providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. If you use Plancast from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

9. Children's privacy

Plancast is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
